A popular cycle route is from Newton Abbot, heading south east along the National Cycle Network 28 towards Torquay, then following the coastal path to Paignton and onto Brixham breakwater.

Join the Mansands Circular walk from our site and after two miles you have the option to join the coastal path which contours the natural, wild coastline, passing ragged cliffs and sandy beaches.

Berry Head National Nature Reserve walk is a gentle journey that’s rich in wildlife and where you’ll find Napoleonic war fort remains.

Visit the National Trust site of Greenway house and garden, which was the private holiday home for Agatha Christie and her family. The relaxed atmosphere and stunning accredited ‘Garden of Excellence’, it’s easy to understand where the legendary novelist got her inspirations from.

The Golden Hind, is a full sized replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship, one of the most iconic ships from the age of exploration and has been a feature in Brixham’s picturesque harbour since 1964. Take a trip and see and feel the Captain's and Officers' cabins, marvel at how up to 60 men slept below decks and inspect the weapons, tools, cannons and artefacts from the age of discovery.

In the summer months, you can dip your toes into a natural saltwater rock pool at Shoalstone Swimming Pool that’s built into the natural rocks at Brixham.

Enjoy fresh seafood on the edge of the water at The Rock Fish, with their award winning seafood restaurant positioned inside the world famous fish market, overlooking the boats that are out for a catch!

Discover some of the most unique coffees from some of the best coffee roasters in the UK at The Larder in Brixham. They also serve delicious smoothies and shakes, as well as a tasty brunch menu.

The nearest pubs in walking distance from the campsite is The Ship Inn and The Skipper Inn which you can reach in less than an hour (or 5 minutes by car). Travel a little further to Dartmouth and Brixham for a variety of restaurants.

On warm sunny days, grab your swimming costume and head to Splashdown Quaywest Waterpark, the UK’s biggest outdoor waterpark that’s home to eight exciting tyre, mat and body rides, including the high-speed Wild Kamikaze and the 45ft near vertical Devil’s Drop!

Grab a bucket, some string and a small fishing net and head to the beautiful harbour in Brixham for a spot of crabbing. Don’t forget the bait, the smellier the better, but crabs are also tempted by fish and bacon!

Have a family tournament at Cayman Golf, the UK’s only short golf course, built in 9 acres of stunning Devon countryside, just on the outskirts of Brixham.
