Dark Sky Campsites

What are Dark Sky Discovery Sites?

A dark sky site means you're far enough away from light pollution meaning the sky is extra dark at night and it makes it possible to see over 1000 stars without the need for a telescope. We are very fortunate here in the UK with so many fantastic areas for stargazing and in some of these places, it’s even possible to see our Milky Way.

If you're an astrology enthusiast or just fancy a spot of stargazing, these could be the top sites for you to visit in the UK.

Dark Sky Sites are in the middle of nowhere, so it's advisable to pack an extra torch for walking around the campsite after dark.

Check out the map to see which campsites are the best spots to see the stars!

What should I bring?

In the glamping podsglamping cabinssafari tents and yurts, we provide bedding and basic necessities but you may want to bring additional items such as a hair dryer, towels, toiletries, and games.

Towels are also available for hire. Please contact our team by calling 01342 777533, emailing [email protected] or using our webchat.

If you’re snuggling up in one of our camping pods for the night, you’ll need to bring your own bedding and camping equipment too (including cooking equipment).
