Nestled in the gardens of Tredegar Country House, our campsite offers the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The House, set in 90 acres of parkland, boasts a 17^th century orangery, gardens, woodland and adventure playground which is open to explore throughout the year.

With easy access to Cardiff and Newport and plenty of walking and cycle tracks, our campsite has something for everyone.

• Cycling

  The nearest National Cycle Network Route to this site is Route 4, The Celtic Trail. Follow the route towards Newport (around four miles) and along the River Usk.

• Walking

  Tredegar House Country Park has 90 acres of parkland, providing woodland walks or a stroll around the lake. A 3.5 mile circular walk can be started at Fourteen Locks Visitor Centre (gates locked 4.45 p.m.) following the two paths of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.

  Try the Four Falls walk in the Brecon Beacons, and energetic five mile hike through the stunning countryside to marvel at the waterfalls.

  Choccie Cake Company offers truffle making workshops for you to take home and enjoy, just outside our campsite. Take a look at the chocolate works of art that you can buy to take home.

  Have hours of fun at Limitless Trampoline Park in Cwnbran. Bouncers are let loose on 43 trampolines, with angled wall trampolines as well as a foam pit, cargo nets, slack line and basketball lanes. You can bounce from one end of the park to the other whilst enjoying different activities on your way.

  Dare to walk among the jurassic giants at Tee-Rex Adventure Golf in Cardiff!  This 18-hole crazy golf is competitive, social fun that offers plenty of thrills and laughs.

• Pubs and restaurants

  Visitor’s recommendations:

  Just around the corner from our campsite, you can stop in at the Vanilla Pod Cafe for some much needed refreshment after a day of adventure. Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea, or sample one of their homemade sandwiches.

  There are plenty of cosy pubs in the area, but our visitors recommend the Dragonfly. This country pub oozes rural charm and character and the picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub food.

  If you’re looking for variety, nearby Newport and Cardiff offer a plethora of eating and drinking establishments.

• Family Days Out

  Right on your doorstep, visit Tredegar House and gardens - discover the house, enjoy the gardens and explore the parkland. With it’s history of dark arts, riotous parties, war heroism, crocodiles and crucifixes... Tredegar House has something to interest everyone.

  The region famous for its cheese, Caerphilly has much to explore. Spend a day touring Caerphilly Castle, a striking medieval fort built in the 13th century. Explore the history of Caerleon Roman Fortress and Baths and paint a vivid picture of how life was in second-century Roman Britain.

  Our campsite provides a good base to explore the nearby cities of Newport and Cardiff. Stop in at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, become a scientist at Techniquest, or spend the day sampling the many shops and restaurants.
