Our spacious, relaxed site is an easy base in which to venture into the nearby market towns of Brecon and Talgarth where you can wander along the River Ennig. The surrounding landscape is your open playground, ready to be discovered.

  • Cycling Cycling

    There are traffic free canal paths, lakes and reservoirs that you can ride to in less than an hour, including the Llangors Lake and the Welsh Crannog Centre or Talybont Reservoir with beautiful views across the water.

    For a longer ride, aim for forest trails in Glasfynydd and Garwnant, Usk Reservoir or Clydach Gorge. Visit the Breacon Beacons website for more moderate routes or follow the National Cycle Network which contours the length of Brecon Beacons - view Sustrans cycle map.

  • Walking Walking

    Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains are stunning areas for hill walking. There are vast expanses of grassy terrain, peppered with limestone, boulders, caves, lakes and valleys. A hike to the top of Pen-y-Fan will give you an enormous sense of achievement as well as spectacular views.

    There are flat routes from Brecon to Abergavenny and there are bus stops along the way if you want to start halfway or return by bus. To the south of Brecon Beacons is Henrhyd Falls and Nant Llech Valley if you want to check out one of Wales’ tallest falls.

  • Things to try Things to try

    Brecon Beacons is all about outdoor adventure! You won’t be short of things to do whilst you stay with us. We’re less than five miles away from many centres that offer varied activities, including horse riding and trekking on horseback, indoor rock climbing, try gorge scrambling, open canoeing, high level ropes and abseiling. There are also local bushcraft centres that teach foraging, camp building and survival – great for all ages.

    If you want to try something different, head to Penderyn Distillery for a whisky tour or relax on the canal with Dragon Fly Boat Cruise.

  • Pubs and restaurants Pubs and restaurants

    Our nearest pubs are the Three Horseshoes (a 20 minute walk away), The Brecon Tap and The Bank (a 30 minute walk). Good walking routes with a pub stop includes the White Swan in Llanfrynach, The Old Ford Inn in Llanhamlach and the Castle Inn in Llangorse.

    Next to the canal is Pilgrims Tearooms and Casa Café -great for breakfast and lunch. Ghurkha Corner is also close by if you like a bit of spice.
